EDWIN C. MACHEN,
age 78, of 14 Yellow Barn Road, Freeville, NY died Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at the Cayuga Medical Center, Ithaca, NY after a long illness. Born July 2, 1928 at Brooktondale he was a son of the later Arthur C. and Thelma Elston Machen. Ed served in the US Army during WWII in Japan as part of the Army of Occupation. He was the owner and operator of Louie’s Lunch hot truck on Thurston Ave. in Ithaca, NY until retirement in 1993. Ed was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a member of the Dryden Township 8158, Veteran’s of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Martha Reese Machen of Freeville; two step-daughters, Sandra Bennett of Willseyville and Debra Sattler in California; four step-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren.
At Ed’s request, no public services will be held. Burial will be private in Willow Glen Cemetery at a latter date. Perkins Funeral Home assisted the family.
