ELEANOR E. COLLINS
, age 84, formerly of 9 Groton Ave., Freeville, N Y passed away Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009 at the Groton Nursing Facility. Eleanor was born May 26, 1925, in Groton, a daughter of the late Horatio D. and Hazel P. Morgan Hall. Eleanor was married to Homer Collins who died May 1, 2000. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Freeville and also attended the Asbury Assembly of God Church. Eleanor was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who always placed others ahead of herself.
Survivors include her son, Roy D. (Kathie Gingras) Collins of Port Orange, FL and a daughter, Janet (Tom) Jordan of Dryden; three brothers, Kenneth (Lina Jean) Hall of Groton, DeForest (Irene) Hall of Groton and David (Carlene) Hall of Nacogdoches, TX; a granddaughter Megan Collins of Corning; a great-grandson, Jaxyn Collins-Mahoney; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, Aug. 14 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Austin officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 AM Friday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden.
