ELEANOR JEANNE STICKANE,
age 70, of 21 Phil’s Way, Freeville, NY died Sunday, May 7, 2006 at her residence after a lengthy illness surrounded by her loving family. Eleanor was born Jan 14, 1936 in Elmira, NY a daughter of the late James "Harry" and Margaret Nichols Kelly. She was graduated from Elmira Free Academy in 1954. Eleanor was a retired home health care aide. She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting and sewing. Two husbands, Leroy F. Inscoe and Edgar E. Ward, Sr. have predeceased her.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Allen Stickane of Freeville, her children, Mark A. Whitlock of California, Margaret A. (Theodore) Campbell of Ovid, Kathryn (Melvin) VanZile of Cortland, Howard A. Ward of Trumansburg, Marsha A. (Jack) Eastman of Newfield; her sisters, Patricia Precise, Judy Gendreau and Michelle Kelly, a brother, James "Yogi" Kelly all of Seattle; special friends, Paul Pion, DVM and John Lynch. Numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and cousins also survive. A son, Edgar E. Ward, Jr. died in 2001.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Friday, May 12, 2006 at the Perkins Funeral Home 55 West Main St., Dryden. Rev. Jacquie Lewis will officiate. Burial will follow in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call from 12 Noon to 1 PM Friday prior to the funeral.
