Elizabeth Rizzuti Roglou
Dec. 31, 1957 - Dec. 20, 2017
Elizabeth "Liz" Roglou was a sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was born in Brooklyn to the late Vincenzo and Concetta Rizzuti and raised with a tribe of siblings and cousins.
Words cannot come close to describing who Liz was; her presence was mighty. She radiated a beauty and kindness that drew people to her. Her faith in God never faltered and her greatest gift was providing refuge to those in need.
Humble, steadfast, and prudent; Liz loved deeply and without judgment. Throughout her illness, she never complained or wanted others to worry. Instead, she continued to smile, be grateful and put others before herself. Her heart for serving was evident in her devotion to family and throughout her career as a hairdresser.
Liz found so much joy in music and dancing. She spent hours practicing, from tap lessons to The Hustle and most recently Zumba. Liz especially loved Disco, Carpenters, Gospel and Christmas music.
Although she is not physically with us her spirit has left a mark on our hearts that we cannot deny:
"I'm gone - gone but still living, Life goes on without a beating heart…Free like the river my life, Goes on and on through infinity." -Stevie Wonder
On Wednesday, December 20, 2017, Liz walked out of earthly time and into a beautiful eternity. She is survived by her husband, Dino, their sons, Matthew and Michael, three beautiful grandchildren, her siblings Marie, Anna, Michael, Madeline and endless family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, December 30 at Reach Out For Christ church in Freeville, NY.
