Elizabeth J. Seymour

Elizabeth Jane (Austin) Seymour passed away on December 2, 2010. She was born in Ithaca on March 21, 1925, the daughter of the late Ward Austin and Elizabeth Geary Austin. She attended Ithaca schools, graduating in 1944. That same year, she married Conrad Seymour, whom she loved until his passing in 1997. They moved to Buffalo in 1951, where she remained until her recent return to Ithaca.



Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou Hamilton of Ithaca; her grandson, Michael Hamilton of Ithaca; her granddaughter, Bridget (Charles) Alexander of Newark Valley; her sister, Mary Austin of Ithaca, who shared a very close bond with her. She is also survived by three nieces, Susan (Michael) Longernan of Florida, Sherry Carmon of Ithaca and Sandra (Daniel) Sheats of Georgia. She also leaves her Dear friend in Buffalo, Kathy Shanahan; and her sister in law, Mary Jane Wiltse was always a constant in her life.She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Desiree Alexander and Colby Alexander.



There will be no calling hours or service at this time. Burial will take place in Frear Memorial Park at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA, 1640 Hanshaw Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850. Perkins Funeral Home is assisting the family. www.perkinsfuneralhome.com
