Elsie (Rogers) Brown

Elsie May Martin Brown (90) of Marathon, NY passed away on November 2, 2020 in Cortland, NY. Elsie was Born January 30, 1930 in Romney West Virginia

Daughter of the late Robert and Nora Staub Rogers

Elsie Was very much a social butterfly who loved to feed people. You could not walk out of her house without something to eat. Dessert and Coffee was always available for anyone to sit down at the table for a bit.

Elsie was always on the go in some way if she was not cleaning her house, galivanting at a festival or shopping, she was at work. She was one of the few remaining Stubborn, kind hearted farm girls. Constantly working. She retired from Marathon Central School Twice!

Her world revolved around her grandson Matthew (Nicole) Sherman of Virgil and her granddaughter Brittany (Jeremy) Donah of Marathon, and 4 of her 29 Great Grand children Simon, Henry, Mia & troy.

Elsie was predeceased by her husband of 41 years Roy L Brown, Son Ray “Butch” Sloat, & Daughter Bernice Sloat

She is survived by Daughter Donna Thompson of Florida, Son Alan (Debi) Sloat of Florida, Daughter Connie (Dave) Roth of South Carolina, Son Gary (Barb) Sloat of North Carolina, Daughter Lisa Cornell of McGraw, NY, Son L. David Spore of Florida, Daughter Cyndee (Scott) Lindsay of California, Step Daughter Mary Brown Marathon, NY, Ann Schottke Buffalo, NY

Sister Marjorie Westcott, Brother Jerry Rogers, Brother Donald Rogers.
