ELWOOD L. INGRAHM,
age 83, of Dryden, NY died on Thursday, June 17, 2010, after a valiant battle with heart and kidney disease. Elwood joined in the US Navy at age 17, serving honorably in the Seabees during World War II. He was employed for many years through the Operating Engineers as a heavy equipment operator. He was a charter member of the Dryden Township Post #8158 Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a member of the Dryden Baptist Church. Elwood and Opal spent their last 30 years wintering at their residence in Holiday, FL and the remainder of each year at 6 Ferguson Road, Dryden. Elwood enjoyed hunting and camping with his family and friends as well as volunteering at Camp Bayouca where he barbecued chicken for the campers and families.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Opal Couts Ingrahm of Dryden; three children, Gene (Jeanie) Rotunda of Homer, Sandy (Bernie) Cornelius of Freeville and Bob (Bonnie) Rotunda of Dryden; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a brother, Neal (Lucille) Ingrahm of Richford.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Dryden Baptist Church, Virgil road, Dryden. Friends are invited to call Wednesday from 12 to 1 PM prior to the funeral. Burial with military honors provided by members of the Dryden Veterans memorial Home Ritual Team will follow in Green Hills Cemetery, Dryden.
