Erika C. Duffett

Erika Capdevielle Duffett passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017, at her home in Ithaca, NY. She was born on June 16, 1958, in Mexico City to Luis Enrique Capdevielle Olaeta and Maria Carmen Torres Rivera de Capdevielle.

Erika grew up in the neighborhood of Coyoacán in Mexico City and graduated from Colegio Vista Hermosa. After high school, she spent time travelling throughout France, where she spent two years studying French language and culture.

Upon returning from France, she met David and they married shortly after in Mexico City before moving to the United States, where they were happily married for 36 years. She worked for her husbands' company for many years, where she was the office manager. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena, where she loved to sing. In addition, she enjoyed traveling, music, cooking, and entertaining. The one thing that remained a constant throughout her life was her love of Mexico.

Erika was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Maria Carmen Torres Rivera and brothers Luis and Jorge.

Erika is survived by her spouse, David of Ithaca, NY; her children, Christian of Baltimore, MD and Gabrielle of Ithaca, NY; and her sister, Lorena Capdevielle Torres of Mexico City.

Calling hours for Erika will be on Tuesday from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main Street Dryden NY 13053. A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena, 302 St Catherines Circle, Ithaca, NY 14850.
