ERNEST A. "Scooter" VANN, Jr.,
age 38, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2007 at the Hospicare Residence in Ithaca, NY after a battle with cancer that was diagnosed Nov. 5, 2005. Scooter was born Sept. 30, 1968 at Ithaca a son of Mayfred Burns Vann of Freeville and the late Ernest A. Vann, Sr. He was employed by Dottie’s Ice Cream and later for Land Maintenance Systems, Inc. in Groton, NY
Survivors include his mother, Mayfred Vann of Freeville, his brother, John Vann of Gouverneur, NY; a half-brother, Ricky Burns of Redwood; sisters, Corea Vann of Gouverneur and Rose Vann of Newfield; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be held at 1 PM Friday, May 18, 2007 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Major Ronald Lugiano officiating. Burial will be later in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Odessa, NY. Friends are invited to call from 12 to 1 PM Friday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden. Memorials are directed to the Salvation Army, 150 N. Albany Street, Ithaca, NY 14850.
