Evan D. Wade

EVAN DOWLAND WADE, age 23, of Willamsburg, VA and a senior at Cornell University, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008 as the result of an automobile accident. Evan was born Nov. 9, 1984 in Portsmouth, VA, a son of Marcia E. Smith Wade and Vern E. Wade. Evan was a graduate of Bruton High School and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Evan was active in the Cornell Student Branch of the Ithaca Ward of the LDS Church and was engaged to be married to Cassandra Lee Hollister with a wedding planned for January 10, 2009 at the Palmyra Temple of the LDS Church. He would have graduated from Cornell University, School of Mechanical Engineering in December of this year. Evan was a Midshipman 1/C in the Cornell NROTC.

Evan is survived by his parents; his fiancee, Cassandra Lee Hollister, of Freeville; his brothers, Ehren Kristian Wade and Ellis Madsen Wade both of Williamsburg; his grandmother, Geneice Booher Smith of Winter Haven, FL; aunts; uncles; cousins and many friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Monday, Nov. 3, 2008 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2017 Newman Road, Williamsburg, VA. Burial will follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. Friends are invited to calling hours Monday, from 10 AM to 12 PM, at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
