FLORENCE MYRTLE WOODARD,
91, of 8998 Route 89, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 14, 2007, in the comfort of her home surrounded by loving family. Myrtle was born April 9, 1915 in the Town of Caroline, the daughter of the late Clifford and Virginia Royce. She retired from the Willard Psychiatric Center in 1986. Myrtle will be remembered most for her devotion to family and friends and her delicious sense of humor, as well as growing plants, especially African violets.
She is loved and will be greatly missed by four sons, Frank (Robin) Woodard of Interlaken, Thomas (Margaret) Woodard of Plant City, FL, Robert (Rita) Woodard Jr. of Romulus, and James (Susan) Woodard of Interlaken; one daughter, Flora (Keith) Beck of Waterloo; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers, Jim (Shirley) Royce of Enfield, and Robert (Dorothy) Royce of Mecklenberg; sisters, Elsie DeCann of Groton, Frances Wood of Lansing, Gladys Thornton of
Harford Mills; and several nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Bruce Woodard in 1972; one son, Henry Leonard Woodard in 1999; a sister, Mary Oliver in 2006; and a brother, Clifford Lee Royce, Jr., who was killed in service in 1943.
Friends and family are invited to call from 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2007, at the Perkins Funeral Home, 55 Main Street, Dryden.
Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor James Sweeney officiating. Burial will be at Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the charity of one's choice.
