FRAN FREEMAN, age 67, of 11 Evergreen Street, Dryden, NY passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Born Edna Frances Harrington in Cambridge, MA, she was the daughter of the late John and M. Louise Sullivan Harrington. Fran was raised in Medford, MA and relocated to Dryden in 1978. She was employed for several years as an aide at the Dryden Elementary School and had retired late in 2010.Fran was a Communicant of Holy Cross Church, Freeville and enjoyed BINGO, knitting and helping others.
Additionally she had been employed at Eckerd’s store in Dryden. Fran was a loving and generous person who always entertained her family with her own “Franeese” comments. Most of all she loved her family and always put others ahead of herself.
Survivors include her loving children, Lisa (Mark) Stamp, Susan (Mark) DiGiacomo and Edward (Kelly) Freeman all of Dryden; eight grandchildren, Jenny and Kaite Stamp, Tony, Emily and Marc DiGiacomo, Ellie, Kylie and Evan Freeman all of Dryden; her husband, Edward E. Freeman of Chelsea, MA; nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a large extended family and two close friends, Michelle Doe and Debbie Ellis. Fran was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Mary “Bonnie” Harrington.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Friday, March 18, 2011 at Holy Cross Church, 375 George Road, Freeville. Burial will be later at the convenience of the family. Friends are invited to call from 4 to 6 PM Thursday at the Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main St., Dryden.
