FRANCIS JOHN HAYES,
age 57, of Cortland, NY passed away Saturday, December 16, 2006 after a long illness with COPD. Frank was born January 13, 1949 in Fulton, NY a son of the late Harold and Blanche Hammond Hayes. "Frank" loved to hunt, fish, fly and enjoyed many years of playing the drums and singing in local bands. His favorite saying was "Got Smoke?".
Survivors include his wife, Carole Stanton Hayes of Cortland, his children, Amy, Gloria, Tami and Athena; his son, Shawn; his step-mother, Beatrice Hayes, the rock of the family; his brothers, Bob "Butch" Hayes, Bruce (Ella) Hayes, Wayne Hayes; sisters, Edie
(Chuck) , Charlene (Bob), Wanda (Gary); his father-in-law, Lawrence Stanton; his in-laws, Val Benjamin, Sue (Ben) Benjamin and Larry (Shannon) Stanton. Also surviving are many grandchildren; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews and cousins as well as his special friends, Donald Zimmer and Dave (Mary) Ellis.
Funeral services will be at 1 PM Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Jacquie Lewis officiating. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 12 to 1 PM Tuesday prior to the funeral. Friends are encouraged to make a donation to the American Lung Association, 506 East Washington St., Syracuse, NY 13202-1940 or the charity of their own choice.
