Frank Mitchell went to be with our Lord after a long Illness. Frank was born in Syracuse New York January 14, 1932 to the late Francis Joseph Mitchell and Lillian Levanian Mitchell. Frank was predeceased by his sister Gwendolyn Mitchell McCrory. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a member of the 3rd. Infantry Regiment known as “The Old Guard” where he rendered honors at the funerals of many service men who were buried at Arlington National Cemetery. He was a native of Queens N.Y., and retired from the N.Y.C. school district where he worked as a custodian and boiler operator prior to moving upstate to Virgil to spend his retirement closer to his family. He enjoyed woodworking, and was an avid gardener. He often said he should have been born a Farmer. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, and their families.
Funeral services will be held at 1PM, Saturday, July 19that the Perkins Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors provided by members of the Dryden Veterans Memorial Home Ritual Team will follow in Green Hills Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call from 11 AM to 1 PM Saturday, at the funeral home, 55 West Main Street, Dryden.
