Frank Clyde Prugh

June 24, 1946 — June 14, 2018

Frank Clyde Prugh III, 71 of Freeville, NY, passed away June 14 at Cayuga Medical Center.
Known to his family as “Tim”, he was born in Sayre, Pennsylvania to the late Frank Clyde Prugh Jr. and Anna Colegrove Prugh of Tioga, PA. Frank is survived by his immediate family; his wife, Sandra L. Prugh; his daughter, Cassie M. Prugh of Albany, NY; his son, F. Cyle (Kristin) Prugh; and his granddaughter, Violet Eloise Prugh. He is also survived by his sisters; Sessaly (John) Boyd and Ariel Whitacre and his nieces and nephews, Glynis Priester, Wil Priester, Matthew Priester and LeeAnn Mayoras. Frank was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Robert Whitacre. He was also predeceased by his beloved dogs and sometimes hunting companions; Lady, Tina, Zeke, Midge, Kelsey, Dusty, Yogi, Scooter and Nellie and survived by his sweet and crazy lap warmer Daisy.
Referred to as “Sir” or “Mr. Prugh” in school, often red faced and smiling, he was a presence both in the classroom and in the hallways of Dryden Jr.-Sr. High School. Mr. Prugh was a secondary education teacher who taught high school math courses. He enjoyed the company of his colleagues inside and outside of school and every day he stayed after school to help any student in need. In the summers, he and his good friend Stan Hugo would build a home for someone in the community. Frank was an avid hunter and fisherman and took pleasure in these hobbies with his friends, furry companions and especially with his son, Cyle. Later in life, he looked forward to weekly breakfast with his fellow retired teachers’ “breakfast club”.
