FRANK YACAVONE, age 87, of Cortland-McLean Road, Cortland, NY
died Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at the Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca, NY. Born in Cortland as Franceses Yacovone on October 5, 1918, he was a son of the late Michele "Michael" and Marie Quattrochy Yacovone. Frank was a life Cortland area resident and was married to the former Doris Shufelt at Cortland. Mrs. Yacavone passed away January 14, 1987. He was a dairy farmer, a partner in Bill Bros. Dairy and later drove school bus for the Dryden Central School retiring in 1983. Frank was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church.
Survivors include his son, Charles N. (Diane) Yacavone of Dryden; his daughter, Maria (Akio) Matsudaria of Jacksonville, KY; a daughter -in-law, Mary Yacavone of Cortland; grandchildren, Michele (Egon) Wendel, Mark (Corky Macumber) Yacavone, Brenda Yacavone, Tina Yacavone and Michael (Angie) Elliott; four great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, James M. Yacavone and his siblings, Veo, Arthur and Joseph Yacavone and Amelia Iacavone.
Private funeral services will be held at the Perkins Funeral Home with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Cortland. There are no calling hours. Friends are asked to consider a memorial to the Dryden Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 397, Dryden, NY 13053-0397.
