Frederick Mockler, age 74 of Voorheis Road, Trumansburg, NY passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the Schuyler Hospital after becoming ill at home. Fred was born September 21, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late Max and Elsie Dotterman Mockler. Fred attended the Food Trades High School, moved on to Oakland Military Academy and into the US Coast Guard. Upon leaving the Coast Guard, Fred continued in the food trades industry with 35 years of service to the US Department of Agriculture, amongst countless positions in butchering till his retirement in 1995. As an avid electronics enthusiast, Fred was also licensed with the FCC as a shortwave radio operator, under the call of KA2SIW, which kept him active since the early 1980s.

A lifelong devotion to Freemasonry, Fred joined the Order of DeMolay in the 1950's, and quickly moved into the Blue Lodge, raised as a Master Mason in 1963. Over the course of the following 50 years, he has held several positions in the Masonic Lodge, most notably his being Worshipful Master at Trumansburg #157, Trumansburg, NY, as well as positions in several other concordant bodies of Freemasonry.

He is survived by his sister, Anne Marie Leitch, three sons, Eric Mockler of Cortland NY, Stephen and Douglas Mockler, both of Trumansburg, and two grandsons, Gregory and Ian Mockler. His beloved wife of 38 years, Ingrid Rasmussen Mockler predeceased him.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, April 22 at the Perkins Funeral Home. Burial will be private in Hector Union Cemetery. Friends are invited to call from 5 to 7 PM, Tuesday, at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY when members of the Masonic Lodge will conduct services at 6:45 PM. Memorials are directed to the Trumansburg Masonic Lodge, Trumansburg, NY 14886 or the Royal Arch Masons Lung Fund, 2150 Bleeker Street, Utica, NY 13501-1788
