Frederick Vanderpool, age 75, of McLean, NY, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at the Hospicare Residence after an extended illness. Fred was born in Sayre, PA a son of the late Adelbert and Mildred Johnson Vanderpool. He was graduated from Canton High School (PA) in 1955 and served in the US Army from 1957 to 1961. Fred was employed for more than 30 years at Morse Chain/Emerson Electric in Ithaca, NY as a machinist. Survivors include his wife, Maria Ocello Vanderpool of Cortland; his children, Patty (Stacy) Lewis of Canton, PA; a son, Christopher Vanderpool of Cortland; several grandchildren; siblings, Francis, Delbert, Jane, Mary and Betty; his foster siblings, Robert, Sharon, Phyllis and Katherine; step children, Priscilla, Penny, Sue, Paul, Darrell Heath and Mike Dawson; as well as several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and extended family members also survive. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2013, at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Edie Reagan officiating. Burial with Military Honors provided by members of the Dryden Veterans Memorial Home Ritual will follow in Green Hills Cemetery, Dryden. There are no calling hours. www.perkinsfuneralhome.com
