Gary Lee Van Dee

Gary Lee Van Dee 70 of Lady Lake FL, formerly of Cuyler NY went to be with our Lord on Sunday April 25, 2021 at home.    He was born in Cortland, NY on November 13, 1950 to George Sylvester Van Dee Jr. and Dorothea Mae Wimer.  He graduated from DeRuyter Central School and served in the United States Army from May 1968 to June 1971.  His profession was a cook and his favorite past time was cooking and baking for family and friends; especially cinnamon rolls for his friends in Lady Lake Mobile Home Park.  He is predeceased by parents, and sister Mary Ann Custer.

He is survived by his four children Gary Joel of Homer NY, Nicole VanDerhoff of Cortland NY, Barton Phillip of Conklin NY, Nathan of Abilene TX, stepdaughter Casci Bean of Polk City FL and stepson Michael Pendleton of Savannah GA.  He is also survived by brothers Richard (Carol) Sherman, George (Ruth) Van Dee, John (Lisa) Van Dee, Jody (Julie) Van Dee and Samuel (Erin) Van Dee as well as sisters Roxanne (Larry) Garrett, Marilyn Thomas, Linda Brunett and Alene (John) Vogt.  He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Piper Leigh his precious little dog will miss her daddy dearly.  Grave side services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at DeRuyter Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers please make donations to charity of choice.
