George W. Ungewitter

George Wilhelm Ungewitter died at the age of 91 on Friday, February 19, 2016. He was a kind, gentle and generous man who worked hard and lived a simple yet very full life. More than anything, he loved his family and in return they dearly loved their GEWI. He was very proud to be a naturalized United States citizen and took great interest in local, state and national issues of the day. George always looked forward to his opportunity to vote.

George is mourned by and will live on in the memories of both his family and many friends. His immediate survivors include his sister Renate Greenshields, nieces Jane Winlow and Maria Zinman and his nephews Tim and George Greenshields. He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews as well as several cousins.

Friends may join the family for a celebration of George's life at 11 AM on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 45 Hamlin Street in Cortland, NY. A reception at church will follow the funeral service.

Donations may be made in George's memory to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Nursery School or Communion Cup Funds in care of the church.
