Gerald A. Boughton,
age 72, of Marathon, NY died Friday, March 30, 2012 at Cortland Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness, with his family at his side.
Born April 20, 1939 in Greene, NY, he was the son of the late Arthur and LaWanda Beach Boughton. On September 5, 1958 he married Elizabeth Willson at Cortland, NY. He retired after 50 years from Pall Trinity Corp. working his way up through the ranks to become Production Control Supervisor. An avid bowler, he enjoyed golfing, riding motorcycle, showing horses and farming. He was active with his children in 4-H and was also a member of Cortland County Mounted Posse.
Mr. Boughton is survived by his wife, Elizabeth A. Boughton of Marathon, NY; son, James A. (Lisa Kirchner) Boughton, of McGraw, NY; daughter, Jeri-Ann Boughton Bush of Dryden, NY; six grandchildren, Christopher Boughton, Peter (Robyn) Boughton, Alyx Kirchner, Jenessa A. Bush, Jessica A. Bush and Joshua A. Bush; great grandchildren, Maci Boughton , Jade Boughton and Kevin Boughton; siblings, Earl (Karen) Boughton of Illinois, Barbara Mudge of Marathon, NY, Judy (John) Miller of Florida, Joan Abbott of Florida, Jack (Connie) Taylor of Ohio; his stepmother, Jean Boughton of Florida and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Arvin Boughton of California.
