GERALD R. STOCKTON,
of Village Terrace Apts., Cortland, NY passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Jerry was born in Ithaca, NY a son of the late Cornelius and Avis LaFavor Stockton. Taking early retirement from NCR as Operations Manager he went to Ithaca Gun Co. as plant manager until its eventual closing. He was a life member of the Lansing Fire Co. where he was a founding member of the Ambulance/Rescue Service. He was also a life member of the Ithaca Elks Lodge #636 and was in the Naval Reserve for several years. Jerry had a wonderful life, living and loving it to the fullest, leaving cherished memories to so many.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carla Ladd of Cortland; daughter, Kathleen (Robert) Camilli of Freeville; son, James (Shirley) Stockton of St. Augustine, FL; daughter, Dawn Arthur of Ithaca; brother, Neil (Gale) Stockton of Fayetteville, PA; eight grandchildren, Traci, Douglas, Laurie, James, Jr., Jason, Jared, Jessica and Jason; two great-grandchildren, Laurie and Casey; a nephew, Craig Stockton; a niece, Tamera Gundersen. Jerry was predeceased by a brother, Craig Stockton. He will also be sadly missed by his mother-in-law, Ilda Ladd; brothers-in-law, Charles, Thomas, Jonathan, and Timothy; sisters-in-law, LouAnn and Lori and sweet Sarah.
Per Jerry’s request, there will be no services choosing instead to have his cremated remains scattered on the pond at his camp.
