Glenn H. (Scotty) Whittaker

Glenn (Scott) H. Whittaker 65 of Brooktondale, NY passed away on September 20th, 2023, surrounded by his family and friends. Scotty was born in Ithaca NY on September 26, 1957, He was the son of the late Glenn E. and Doris (Keane) Whittaker

He grew up on a dairy farm and loved farming, hunting, snowmobiling, and Nascar.

He attended  Ithaca High school  and started working for Snyder Hill Construction and  in September  of 1977 he started working for the Town of Caroline Highway Department (Highway Superintendent for six years) He retired in October of 2010 although he continued to work part time until November of 2019. He was a life member of Brooktondale Volunteer Fire Department serving at one point as assistant chief. He married Cindy (Dean) Whittaker on October 15th, 1978, and raised three beautiful daughters along with many other kids that showed up on our doorstep. Scott was predeceased by his parents Glenn and Doris Whittaker along with his brother Tracey R. Whittaker, brothers-in-law David Parker and Frank Dean and many other family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Cindy,  his daughters Ann (Troy) Turcsik, Heather (James) Whittaker, Tracy (Bill) Guggenheim; adopted son Shawn Barnes, His grandchildren Austin Turcsik (Jasminne), Cayden Turcsik, Ashley (Tony) Whitaker, Kalei (Tyler) Shaw, Ryan Shaw, Alexis (Tyler) Whittaker, Alyssa (Anthony) Leonard, Anna Guggenheim, Riley Guggenheim, Great Grandchildren Odin Barber, Hunter, Aaron, Logan Whitaker, McKenzie Turcsik arriving this week, and another great granddaughter due in March; Siblings, Bonnie Whittaker, Jack (Sandy) Whittaker, Gail (Tom) Martin, Mary Whittaker, Kathy Parker, Kelly (Herbie) Parker, Janet (Gordie) Nash. Sister-in-law Connie Dean Parker. Two special nephews James (Becky) Dean, Herbie (Jenny) Whittaker and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Special friends James (Ann) Fowler, Donnie Mix, Brandon (Hannah) Wyllie, George (Pam) Arsenault.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY will Rev. Phil Jordan officiating. Burial will follow at Brookton Cemetery. Friends may call from 1-2 pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Brooktondale Fire Dept.
