Gloria K. Farrell,
age 78, of 435 Etna Road, Ithaca, NY passed away Saturday, August 8, 2009 at home following a lengthy illness. Born June 15, 1931 in Ithaca, NY, she was a daughter of the late Carl Elbert and Iva Holden Kiem. She was a graduate of Ludlowville High School and started working for NY Telephone Co. as an operator. Later she worked for Kiely Reality and for the majority of her career as a bookkeeper for the Cornell University Campus Store.Mrs. Farrell is survived by her longtime companion and care giver, Donald Isenbarger of Ithaca, NY; her children, Daniel Farrell of PA, Rebecca Bower of Covert, NY, Tim Farrell of Lansing and R. Andrew Farrell of Enfield, NY; grandchildren, Josh Bower, Sean Farrell and Nicholas Tuttle. In addition, she is also survived by Don’s children, Bonnie Biata of Lansing, NY, Holly Fedorka of Clayville, NY, and Donette Hanna of Ithaca. She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert J. Farrell and her sister, Christine Springer.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, August 13, 2009, at South Hill Cemetery, Coddington Road, Ithaca with Rev. Robert Clark officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM, Wednesday and from 12 to 1 PM Thursday at the Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main St., Dryden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. of CNY, 441 West Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204 or Hospicare and Palliative Services, 172 E.
