GORDON F. “Dutch” ELLIS, age 95, of Gee Hill Road, Dryden, NY passed away Friday Oct. 10, 2014 at the Cortland Memorial Nursing Facility. Mr. Ellis was born November 29, 1918 in Cortland and had been a life area resident. He was married to the former Lucille Fenner who passed away Sept. 11, 1970. He had been employed at Cornell University, Ramsey’s IGA, Dryden Implement and retired from Brockway Motor Co.
Survivors include his children, Donald (Diana) Ellis of Dryden, Nancy Bennison of Dryden, Lorraine Parker of Cortland, Esther (Carl) Metott of Dryden and Ronald Ellis of Charlotte, NC; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife; a son-in-law, Carl Parker;a great-grandson, Ryan Ellis and nephew, Darrell Moore.
Mr. Ellis requested that services be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no callings hours. Friends are asked to consider a memorial to: The Building Fund, Dryden Township Veterans Memorial Home, 2272 Dryden Road, Dryden, NY 13053. Perkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
