GUY C. JUHL,
age 84, of German Cross Road, Ithaca, NY passed away, Thursday, March 10, 2011 at University Hospital in Syracuse, NY.
Born June 23, 1926 in the Town of Dryden, NY, he is the only child of the late Anton J. and Emma English Juhl. Guy worked on the family farm, owned and operated Sinclair Gas Station and Convenience Store on Slaterville Road, delivered Archway Cookies and Schuler’s Potato Chips and was employed with Morse Chain and Emerson Electric, retiring in 1988. He was married to the former Joyce Wood on March 13, 1947. He was a 56 year member of Caroline Lodge #681 F& AM. He was very active with the Masonic Lodge and Magnetic Springs Eastern Star and was an avid bowler, bowling on three leagues until his death.
Guy is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joyce Wood Juhl of Ithaca; his three children, Linda Brown of Endicott, Jane Posner of Newark Valley and Albert Juhl of Ithaca; grandchildren, Joshua and Amanda; great grandson, Hadley; and his sister in law, Elinor Wood of Fayetteville.
Masonic services will be conducted by members of Caroline Lodge #681 at 6 PM, Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, followed by a memorial service with Rev. David C. Nicholls officiating. Burial will be later in Snyder Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 – 6 PM prior to the service.
