Gwendolyn E. McCrory,
73, passed away on January 2, 2004. She is survived by her brother, Frank Mitchell; and her children, Elizabeth, John, Michael, Kathryn, and her seven grandchildren.
Gwendolyn was the daughter of Lillian Estelle Lavanion and Francis Joseph Mitchell. She was born in Brooklyn, NY and graduated from St. John’s Episcopal College with a degree as a Registered Nurse. She moved to the Southern Tier area and worked as a Nurse at Cortland Memorial Hospital and later as the Nursing Supervisor for the 3-11 P.M. shift at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, NY. Gwendolyn enjoyed reading romantic novels, completing crossword puzzles, and spending time with family and friends. She was loved and respected by many, and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY. with Rev. Janet D. Lee officiating. Spring burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. Friends may call from 7-8 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
