Harold J. Leger Jr.

HAROLD J. LEGER, Jr., age 53, of 138 Groton Ave., Cortland, NY died Tuesday. Jan. 31, 2006 at his residence after a long illness. Born in Spotsylvania, VA, he was a son of the late Harold J. Leger, Sr. and Rose Chewning Leger. He was raised and educated in Vidor, TX and served in the US Marine Corps from 1969 to 1973. After residing in Texas for many years he returned to Dryden in 1991 and relocated to Cortland in 1994. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys football fan and enjoyed spending time with his son.

Survivors include his son, Harold J. Leger, III of Dryden; his former wife, Luanne Overbaugh Leger of Dryden; his siblings, Alan (Bobbi Jean) Leger of Springer, TX, Michael (Marlene) Leger of Vidor, TX, Nikkie (Dwight) Price of Vidor, TX, Joy (Randall) Lackey of Brazoria, and Gary Leger of Houston, TX; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1 PM Monday, Feb. 6, 2006 at the Perkins Funeral Home. Burial will be the VA Cemetery, Houston, TX. Friends are invited to call from 12 to 1 PM Monday at the funeral home, 55 East Main St., Dryden.
