HAROLD DALE SIMMONS,
age 75, of 836 Dryden Road, Ithaca, NY passed away Thursday, August 18, 2011 at home. Born June 8, 1936, he was a son of the late Harold “Red” Simmons and Alice Vennel Simmons of Coddington Rd., Ithaca.
Dale is survived by his devoted wife Catherine “Katie” Miner Simmons; his children, Susan A. and Kim M. (Andy); grandsons, Aaron and Brad; a sister, Elva Perry; a brother, David R. (Lois) Simmons; aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, Daniel D. Simmons and a brother-in-law, Hap Perry as well as his father, Harold Robert Simmons.
Dale proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS Champlain and was an avid sportsman, master carpenter and woodworker who loved to travel.
A celebration of Dale’s and Dan’s lives will be held from 1 to 4 PM, Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011 at the Varna Community Center, 943, Dryden Road, Ithaca, NY.
