HAROLD A. WELSER
, age 74, of 2 Ringwood Court West died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009 at the Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca, NY. Harold was born April 8, 1935 at Etna, NY, a son of the late Edward and Evalyn Tripp Welser. Harold served in the US Army from 1957 to 1960 as a communications specialist and paratrooper in the Far East. He was employed for 33 years at Borg Warner as a Master Maintenance Machinist. His wife, Anna Louise Fredericks Welser, died June 12, 2008. He was a member and Past Master of Dryden Lodge #472 F.&A.M. and the concordant Scottish Rite Bodies as well as Kalurah Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. Harold was a member of and had been treasurer of the Machinist Union, Local #1607.
Survivors include his children, Lynn Ann (Terry) Oxford of Columbia, MD, Michael (Lisa) Welser of Newfield, Karen (John) Coules of Webster, Suzanne (Mark) Whitley of Rochester, Kelly (James Lee) Mosher of Syracuse; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his siblings, Edward E. (Mary) Welser of Endicott, Violet (Duane) Armstrong of Ithaca; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, George Welser; sons, Richard and Kevin Welser; grandchildren, Aaron and Robert Mosher.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Mildred Logan officiating. Burial, with Military Honors provided by members of the Dryden Veterans Memorial Home Ritual Team, will follow in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call from 5 to 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St. Dryden. Members of Dryden Lodge will conduct Masonic Services Wednesday at 7:45 PM.
