HARRIS A. DAYTON, age 88, of Corn Crib Rd., Freeville, NY went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA after a short illness. Harris was born Sept. 17, 1924 in Moravia, a son of the late Arthur and Adelaide Harris Dayton. He was
graduated from Homer High School and has been a Freeville area
resident for more than 50 years. He was a self employed electrician,
plumber and a farmer. He was also employed at George Junior Republic
and Wheaton Sheet Metal. He was a member of the Reach Out For Christ Church. Harris loved gardening, hunting and fishing with his friends.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Franklyn Dayton; sons, Arland
(Betsy) Dayton of Harford and Gary Dayton of Oakland, CA; daughters,
Ellen Dayton of Oakland, CA and Kayla (Hunter) Allen of Central
Valley, NY; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and
nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Millard Dayton and his sister, Irene Dayton.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, Feb. 23,
2013 at the Reach Out For Christ Church, 318 Johnson Road, Freeville.
Friends are invited to call from 5 to 7PM, Friday at the Perkins
Funeral Home, 55 West Main Street, Dryden. Memorials, in lieu of
