Hayli Alizbeth Hough, age 14, of Harford, NY passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015 at home, after a 19 month battle with Leukemia, surrounded by her family. Born November 24, 2000 in Ithaca, NY she was the daughter of Michelle M. Mays and Robert R. Hough, Jr. Prior to becoming ill, she was to be a freshman at Dryden Central School. She was a very quiet, caring and crafty person who loved children and wanted to become a teacher and/or a nurse. >
She loved her cat, Buddy, her dogs, Brutus and Koda, her Baby Kitty and her newest Make a Wish puppy, Max.
In addition to her parents, Hayli is survived by her sister, Stefani Strickland at home; maternal grandmother, Sue Ladew Stephens of Elmira, NY; maternal grandfather, Robert (Elaine) Mays of Locke, NY; aunts and uncles, Missy and Michael; Tammy, Carol, Matthew and his mother, Lori, Ann (David) Harford of TX, Scott (Eileen) Stephens of VA, Chris (Marcia) Stephens of CO; great aunt and uncle, Mary (Mike) Swasta of Elmira, NY and their daughter, Tiffany (Eric) Bonus; great aunts and uncles, Elden, Bill, Barb, Linda, Curly and Bonnie; close friends, Diana Castrenze, Anna (Richie) Stebbins and family, Joann (Phil) Stockton and family, Bo (Naomi) Sengphonexay and family, Nickisha (Brad) Libbey and family, John (Jenn) Lawrence and family, best friend, Cheyanne Delosh and her tutor and friend, Tara Buckman. In addition, she was predeceased by her step grandfather, Gary Stephens, great grandfather, Lucky Ladew, paternal grandparents, Brenda and Robert Hough, Sr.
Hayli’s family would like to thank the Dr.’s and Nurses at Golisano Children’s Hospital in Syracuse and the Cancer Transplant Center in Rochester for their love and wonderful care and compassion shown to Hayli and her family. Also all the friends and neighbors who have helped and supported the family throughout Hayli’s fight.
Family and friends are invited to call from 10 am to 12 noon on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY. A funeral service will follow at 12 pm officiated by Pastor Katy Prince. Burial will follow at Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden, NY. Following the services, all are invited to the Dryden Veteran’s Memorial Home for a dish to pass and time of fellowship.
