Helen J. Vorhis Lamphere

Helen J. Vorhis Lamphere, age 80, of Ithaca, NY passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.
Born February 19, 1937 in Elmira, NY she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Frances Lovell Haynes and wife of the late Edward Taylor Vorhis who died in 1972. She later married Bernard Lamphere, Jr. who survives and resides in North Carolina. Helen was many things to many people but mostly she was Mom, Grandma and Grandma Great.
Helen is survived by her children, Barbara (Gerald) Caward, Jr. of Lansing, NY, Susan (William) English of Candor, NY, Patricia (David) Disbro of Tacoma, WA, Edward L. (Amy) Vorhis of Groton, NY, JoAnn (Robert) Allen of Lansing, NY and Lisa (Benjamin) Lowry of New Bern, NC; her siblings, Edward L. Kaiser, Lorraine Lintala and JoAnn Tompkins; grandchildren, Dustin, Michael, Heather, Jennifer, Matthew, Mitchell, Joshua, Edward, Christopher, Nathan, Emma and Bryce; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition, she was predeceased by her sister, Jennie Lucille Isbell.
Friends are invited to call from 10-11 am on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY followed by a memorial service at 11 am with Pastor Dave Quigley and Pastor Mike Eaton officiating.
