HELEN BAUM WESTFALL,
age 94, of Dryden Road, Ithaca, NY passed away Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010 at the Cayuga Medical Center after a period of declining health. Helen was born August 8, 1916 in The Town of Dryden a daughter of the late Ralph and Cynthia Card Van Marter. Helen was graduated from Ithaca High School and had been employed at Cornell before serving for 32 years at the George Junior Republic. She attended the United Methodist Church of Varna and sang in the church choir. She was married to Fay Westfall who passed away in 1987.
Survivors include her daughter, Karleen (Art Preston) Whitmore of Ithaca; granddaughters, Renee Granato-Cranmer of Ithaca and Paige McLain of Lansing; great-grandchildren, Cassandra Kelly of Ithaca and James Granato-Cranmer of Ithaca; great great-grandchildren, Krista Kelly-Jones, Madyson Kelly-Beeman, Anthony and Vincent McLain; Westfall step children, Larry, Bruce and Audrey and several , Whitmore, Kelly and Cranmer extended family members; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffrey Locey officiating. Burial will follow in Groton Rural Cemetery. Friends are invited to call Saturday from 12 noon until funeral time at the funeral home, 55 West Main Street, Dryden, NY.
