HENRY B. TINKHAM , age 92, of 5 Union Street, Dryden, NY passed away, Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at the Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca, NY after a period of declining health. Mr. Tinkham was born April 14, 1917 in Touisset, RI. His family lived in Warren, RI on Narragansett Bay where they operated a lettuce farm. Henry served honorably in the US Army during WW II in the Pacific Theater and while stationed in Auckland, New Zealand he met Jean P. Cocker to whom he was married on December 20, 1947. Henry was employed at Wickwire Bros. in Cortland and for the next 30 years was a machinist at Therm, Inc. in Ithaca. He enjoyed reading, playing Bridge, Golf and visiting with his friends.

Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Jean P. Tinkham of Dryden, his son, Allan (Phuong) Tinkham of Sidney, Australia and his daughter, Keitha (Jack) Frederick of Westborough, MA; grandchildren, Dana Frederick of Denver, CO and Leigh Frederick of Playa del Rey, CA. He was predeceased by two sisters, Mabel Hardison and Corella Page.

Henry’s family will be present to receive their friends from 3 to 5 PM Sunday, June 7 at the Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main St., Dryden. At Henry’s request no other services will be held. Friends wishing to remember Henry are asked to consider a memorial in his name to the Southworth Library, P.O. Box 45, Dryden, NY 13053-0045.
