HOWARD B. KEECH, age 87, of Beam Hill Road, Dryden, NY passed away Sunday, Jan 15, 2012 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center after becoming ill at home. Howard was born Oct. 15, 1924 at Harford, a son of the late Charles and Ida Mix Keech. On Nov. 22, 1945, he was married to the former Nannette Woodard in Richford. Mrs. Keech passed away March 8, 2002. He owned Keech Plumbing and Heating for 65 years. He was a member of the Dryden Ambulance and an Honored Member of Neptune Hose Co. No. 1 of Dryden and served faithfully as an EMT for 20 years. He enjoyed attending auctions and collecting antiques.A capable fix-it-man, Howard was a generous neighbor who would help anyone he knew.Survivors include his son, John (Sharon D.) Keech and his daughter, Sandra (Arthur) Barry all of Dryden; grandchildren, Jason (Felicia) Arnold of Homer, Robin (Katie) Barry of Soldotna, AK, Hannah Barry of Glenmont, NY, Emily Barry of Palmer, AK, Molly (Jose) Rivera of Factoryville, PA, Jamie (Caren) Arnold of Dryden, Julie (Jim) Williams of Groton, Kevan (Andrea) Barry of Scott AFB, IL, Nathan Dunham of Lacona, NY, Michelle (Jason) Farrand of Lacona; several great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jean Keech of Freeville and Betty Woodard of Smyrna, TN; a special friend, Deb Denman of Moravia; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Robert Arnold and his three brothers, Lawrence, Marion and Robert Keech.Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, Jan 19, 2012 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Arthur Barry officiating. Burial, delayed until spring, will be in Green Hills Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call from 5 to 7 Pm Wednesday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden.
