Ida H. Dean, 90, of 514 Central Chapel Rd., Brooktondale, passed away October 9, 2014 at the Hospicare Residence.
Born July 13,1924 in Speesdsville, NY she was the daughter of the late William R. and Bertha May Calkins Liddington. She was predeceased by her husband, William J Dean, Sr. (married April 18, 1943); sisters, Elma Cleveland, Maude Klossner, Nellie Benton and Helen Hyde; her brother, Frank Liddington and her son, Frank L. Dean. She is survived by her son, William J. Dean Jr.; daughters, Cindy (Scott) Whittaker and Connie Dean; daughter In law, Sharon Conrad; grandchildren, Ann (Troy) Turcsik, Heather Whittaker, Tracy (Bill) Guggenheim, James Dean and Herb (Jennifer) Whittaker; great grandchildren; Austin, Cayden, Ashley, Ryan, Kalei, Alexis, Alyssa, Anna, Riley and Peyton.
She was employed by Cornell University as an assistant cook, Morse Chain and as a Home Health Aid. She was also an active member in the Senior Citizen organization in Caroline. Ida enjoyed her years of retirement on the family farm on Central Chapel Road which included many years of her spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Perkins Funeral Home, with Rev. Matthew Binkewicz officiating. Burial will follow in Quick Cemetery, Brooktondale. Friends may call from 12-1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden. Memorial donations may be made to Brooktondale Rescue Squad, Slaterville Ambulance or Hospicare of Ithaca.
