Irene J. Dedrick

IRENE J. DEDRICK, age 95, formerly of Mott Road, Dryden, NY went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at The Reconstruction home, Ithaca, NY. Mrs. Dedrick was born July 21, 1910 in Dryden and was a daughter of the late Clayton and Elva Pond Dann. After graduating from Dryden High School in 1929 she was married to Ray L. Dedrick on July 24, 1929. Mr. and Mrs. Dedrick were life long residents of Dryden and operated a Jersey dairy farm and a farm equipment business. Also, she made maple syrup, maple syrup products and operated a "You Pick" blueberry patch. They enjoyed many years together until Ray’s death on Sept. 27, 1963. Irene was always active with the Dryden Baptist Church and was involved in the youth ministries and was a 4-H leader. She was a former member of the Dryden Senior Citizens and was a member of the Dryden Baptist (Chapel) Church.

Survivors include her sons, Paul (Vivian) Dedrick of Lansing and John (Michelle) Dedrick of Dryden; three daughters, Jane (Barry) Yaples of Newfield, Louise (Spencer) Mose of Dryden and Bonnie (Gerald) Roe of Troy, NY; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Dedrick of Dryden; a sister, Ruth (A. Louis) Shaheen of Utica; a brother-in-law, Sven Loman and a sister-in-law, Anna Dann of Dryden; two cousins, Clara Sevok and Helen Berlew; twenty-three grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Irene was predeceased by two sons, Ralph in 1963 and Bruce in 1998; a sister, Alice Loman and brothers, Mark Dann and Claud Dann.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, August 6 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Humphreys of the Dryden Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Glen Cemetery. Friends are invited to call from 11 AM to 1 PM Saturday at the funeral home, 55 west Main St., Dryden, NY.
