Irene J. Tweitmann, 89, of Palm Bay FL passed away on December 26, 2017 at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne FL. She was born on September 7, 1928 in Dryden NY to the late John E. and Juliana L. Buchanan Wiiki.
Irene spend most of her life in the Dryden area where she and her late husband John owned and managed Tweitmann's Halfway House which was located on Route 13 just outside the Village. In addition to owning a business she also was a homemaker to her five children, a dedicated wife and good friend. Irene enjoyed gardening, bowling and spending her retirement year in Florida.
In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her husband John A. Tweitmann, her brothers; John Wiiki, Jake Wiiki, Roy Wiiki her sisters; Julia Wiiki, and Marion Jolly.
Irene is survived by her children Judy Rosen of Ithaca, Barbara Morehouse of Melbourne FL, Joan Harned of Melbourne FL, Gary Tweitmann of Cocoa Beach FL, John Tweitmann Palm Bay FL, her brother-in-law William (Shirley) Tweitmann, her sister-in-law Florence Wiiki of Freeville, NY, her brother Ray (Margaret) Wiiki of WA, five grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2017 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main Street Dryden, NY 13053. Funeral services will be on Friday January 5, at 10AM at the funeral home with burial to follow at Willow Glen Cemetery Dryden, NY.
