JAIME K. CANFIELD, age 35, of 7 Evergreen St., Dryden, NY, beloved daughter of Susan Keene Canfield and Thomas A. Canfield went to be with her lord on Saturday, October 4, 2014 following a brief illness. Born in Cortland, NY on April 8, 1979, Jaime faced many challenging health issues, always meeting them with endurance and smiles. Jaime blessed all who knew and cared for her with unconditional love.

Jaime enjoyed attending school at The Franziska Racker Centers Inc, OCM BOCES, and TST BOCES, and graduated with an IEP diploma in June of 2000. She enjoyed day services at the J.M. Murray Center in Cortland for many years.
Jaime loved family gatherings, turkey dinners, being outdoors, using a swing, reading her books, riding a bike, playing cards, but most of all moving to music. Jaime spent many hours at area SPCAs interacting with the animals. Large dogs were her favorites.
Jaime is survived by her parents, brothers Patrick Canfield (Christiane Hover) of Cortland NY, Casey Canfield (Tara) of Mississauga, Ontario Canada, sister Lauren Canfield of Homer NY, “sister” Christa Loveless of Cortland, NY, maternal grandmother Valaire Mayer of Lisle NY, her aunts Patricia Canfield, Margaret Wheaton, Shelley Warnow, Wendy Means, and Emma Walker, uncles Ralph and Gary Canfield, Fred Walker, Donald Warnow and Gary Landers, nephew Connor, nieces Alexa, Ciara and Fiona, twelve cousins, and 9 of her cousin’s children.
Jaime was pre-deceased by her paternal grandparents Ralph and Emma Canfield of Harford Mills NY, and grandfathers Paul Wheaton of Marathon NY and Frank Mayer of Lisle NY.
Jaime’s family would like to thank all of her teachers, therapists, medical personnel, and residence caregivers for all the ways they helped her thrive and achieve. They are all rock stars to us.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Dean officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Dryden Veterans Memorial Home, 2260 Dryden Road, Dryden, NY. Please join us in a celebration of Jaime’s life at her services by wearing red, her favorite color. Burial will be later in Highland Cemetery, Richford, NY. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home, 55 West Main Street, Dryden, from 9 to 11 AM Wednesday prior to the funeral.
