JAMES R. BUTTS,
63, of Titus Towers, Ithaca, NY passed away Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the VA Medical Center in Syracuse, NY after a long illness. Jim was born Sept. 26, 1946 in Ithaca a son of the late Norman and Helen Basl Butts. He was raised in Dryden, NY, attended Dryden Schools and served in the US Army in Germany from 1966 to 1968. He enjoyed watching basketball, baseball and spending time playing pool with friends.
Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Jarrell and Faye Butts of Dryden; nieces, Jennifer (David) Maguire and Lisa (Chris) Yokum; two great-nephews and many cousins. Also surviving is his dear friends, Marie and David Shepard and family. He was predeceased by a brother, Norman Butts, Jr.
Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 at the Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden with Rev. Alan Kinney officiating. Members of the Dryden Veterans Memorial Home Ritual Team will provide full military honors at the grave. Perkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
