Janet Mary Kastenhuber, born Janet Mary Boyce on February 16, 1936, passed into the loving arms of her heavenly father on May 6, 2015. She was predeceased by her parents, William E. Boyce, Sr. and Lena Mae Woodin Boyce, her son, David Trembley, her husband, Carl Rice and later her husband, Roger Kastenhuber. She leaves behind her son, Roger Rice of Midland, North Carolina; a brother, William (Jerry) Boyce of Enfield, New York; a sister, Joan Lane of Edgewater, Florida; her grandsons, Kyle and Shane Trembley; several step children, nieces, nephews and a large family of loved ones. She will be especially missed by her “adopted” daughters, Cindy (Matt) Furman, Patience ((Jody) Dort and Jane (Sonny) Phillips. Janet has woven a large tapestry of love around the community since retiring from Cayuga Medical Center as a kitchen supervisor, and her subsequent days at Eddydale, in home care and volunteering at the Enfield Community Christian School. New Life Victory Center will feel a hole where this powerful prayer warrior kneeled. Rest in peace, A.J. Keep on roaring and soaring in those heavenly realms. A celebration of Life will be held at 5 pm on Monday, May 11th, 2015 at the Ithaca New Life Victory Center, Clinton West Plaza, Ithaca, NY. Following the service, a dinner will be held at the Eagles Club, Cecil Malone Dr., Ithaca. The family loves flowers, but asks that you alternately consider a gift to Hospicare, 172 E.
