JANET M. O’BRIEN
, age 46, of 130 Sincerbeaux Road, Groton, NY passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born January 14, 1964 in Ithaca, she is a daughter of Barbara Hauck Mott and the late Franklin “Skip” Mott. What do you say when the woman who’s always been there for you has passed? Janet O’Brien was a loving wife and wonderful mother, daughter, sister and grandmother.
There wasn’t anyone who was more proud of her three kids, nor was there an individual more loyal to her family and friends. You say goodbye for now; until we meet again, you will remain forever in our hearts and will be missed every minute of every hour of every day. You meant the world to all of us; we’ll make you proud yet, Love, Dave, Jessica, Zack, Jake, Caelyn and Molly.
In addition to her mother, Barbara Mott of Groton, Janet is survived by her husband, David S. O’Brien at home; daughter, Jessica Weyant of Groton; son, Zachary Weyant currently serving with the US Navy in Honolulu, Hawaii and his wife, Megan of Groton; and her other son, Jake O’Brien of Groton; siblings, Marie (Kevin) Dann, Franklin Mott, Rodney Mott and Deborah (Rick) Satterly all of Groton; and a granddaughter, Caelyn Mae Weyant of Groton, and several nieces and nephews.
At Janet’s request, there will not be any services or calling hours. Those who wish, may make donations to, Janet O’Brien Scholarship for Nursing Fund, c/o First National Bank of Groton, 161 Main St., Groton, NY 13073. Perkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
