Jean Butts

JEAN M. BUTTS, age 79, of 70 West Main St., Dryden, NY died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007 at home after a brief illness. Jean was born March 5th, 1928 at Walkill, NY a daughter of the late Richard and Hyla Edwards Fuller. She was graduated from Dryden High School in 1945. On May 11, 1946 she was married to Donald Butts at Dryden. Mr. Butts died March 14, 1988. Jean was employed at Cornell University as a secretary and bookkeeper for 34 years, retiring in 1990. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her sons, Donald (Mary) Butts, Jr. Of San Antonio, TX and Ronald (Laurie) Butts of Freeville; her daughters, Judith (Harry) Diemer of Bozeman, MT, Linda Ellis of Dryden and Suzanne (Rick) Phillips of Freeville; a brother Edward (Dawn) Fuller of Newfield; nine grandchildren, Teresa, Anna, David, Donald, Nikki, Marissa, Megan, Michelle and Matthew; many great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Grace Terwilliger, Mary Prince, Gladys Miner, Arthur, Robert and Richard Fuller; and a son-in-law, Loren Ellis.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, Sept. 5th, 2007 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Kinney officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call from 7 to 9 PM Tuesday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY.
