JEANNINE B. JACKSON,
age 81, of 105 Willowbrook Manor, Dryden, NY passed away Monday, Dec. 13, 2010 at the Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca. Jeannine was born January 29, 1929 in Burdett, NY a daughter of the late Lewis and Evelyn Brown Hungerford. A long time resident of Dryden, Jeannine had been employed at The Ithaca Journal prior to retirement and had resided in Willowbrook Manor since 1990. She was a member of the Red Hat society. Jeannine was a much loved community member.
Jeannine loved family and friends unconditionally. Her positive impact on the children of Dryden from the 60's through the 90's cannot be measured. To so many she was "The other mom". Jeannine passed on with family at her side and for those present, it was an honor.
Survivors include her son, David F. (Blanche) Jackson of Butler, PA; her brother, Robert C. (Pat) Hungerford of Lodi, NY; her grandchildren, Jesse and Keith Robinson, Hannah Jackson and Kristen Jackson Villone; nephews, Andy and David (Carly) Hungerford; nieces, Sue (Harold) Bryant, Kim (Jeff) Schenk and Cheryl Donnelly. She was predeceased by a daughter, Cindy L. Robinson, a son, Charles A. Jackson; grandchildren, Levi and Adrian Jackson and a sister, Ellen “Tootie” Donnelly.
A celebration of Jeannine’s life will be held at 11 AM Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010 at The First Presbyterian Church of Dryden with Rev. David C. Robinson officiating. Burial will be later in Green Hills Cemetery, Dryden. Jeannine’s family will great friends at the church after the service. Perkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
