JoAnne Lacey 90, of Cortland, passed away early on January 15, 2024. She was the daughter of the late George and Nellie Ohleen. JoAnne was a devoted mother to her son, and adored her two grandchildren.
JoAnne was a champion sports spectator for the Dryden Central School, while her son and his team mates hit the court and the fields. She could always be found, often with a sister or two, in the stands cheering the Lions on. She was a proud mother. Joanne was also adventurous, traveling to multiple countries, and immersing herself into their different cultures. During her later years, she enjoyed living on Tully Lake-she loved being on the water, working in her yard and sharing with family and friends the beauty, as well as the peacefulness that the lake offered.
In addition to her parents, JoAnne is predeceased by her beloved sisters and partners in crime, Betty (Jerry) Oltz; Margaret Long and Mary (Lee) Burghardt. JoAnne is survived by her son, Jeff (Beverly);her grandchildren, Beau (Mattisan Rowan); and Taylor (Bradley Laman); as well as her great granddaughter, Maura.
She will be greatly missed by all those who were fortunate to know this caring, generous mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.
