Johanna S. (Swanson) Mesmer

Johanna S. Mesmer, 75, of Dryden, NY passed away Friday, June 4, 2021 at Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca.

Born January 31, 1946 in Oswego, NY she was one of two daughters of the late Glenn and Aimee Bullock Swanson and wife of the late George “Pat” Mesmer who died in 2004.  Johanna was employed with the Cortland Savings Bank for many years prior to retirement.  She was very community oriented and belonged to many local organizations including Dryden Footlighters, Red Hat Society, Cortland Figure Skating Club, on the board of Green Hills Cemetery and a Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Dryden.

Johanna is survived by her son and daughter in law, Douglas (Sharon) Graham of Richford, NY ; grandchildren, Jack Graham and Kimberly Graham; step children, Patrick (Trisha) Mesmer of FL and Kim Marcus of FL; her sister, Kathy (David) Owens of GA; brothers in law, Mike (Angela) Mesmer of GA and John Ragan of CO; nephews, Mark (Jennifer) and Wayne (Shelly) Owens; step grandchildren, great nieces and nephews and a great grandchild on the way.

Graveside services will be held at 11 am, Thursday, June 10, 2021 in Green Hills Cemetery, Dryden. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Diabetes Assoc., 356 N Midler Ave, Syracuse, NY 13206 or American Heart Assoc., 59 Court St, Binghamton, NY 13901
