John I. Green, Jr., age 78, of Homer, NY died Saturday, February 28, 2015 at home. Born October 11, 1936 in Endicott, NY he was the son of the late John and Rose Creeley Green. John was a fireman in Florida in his early years and was employed at Buck Bee Meers in Cortland for several years before he retired.
John is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judith Freer Green; son, Johnnie Lee (Christie)Green; daughter, Cheryl (Peter) Cotroneo; son, Scott (Lynne) Green; daughter, Patricia (Jack) Hughes; son, Michael Green; son, James Green; step-son, Richard (Kim) Osborne, Jr; sixteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two grandchildren.
At John’s request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospicare & Palliative Care Services, 11 Kennedy Parkway, Cortland, NY 13045 in memory of John I. Green, Jr.
