JOHN (JACK) WARREN HARDING, age 76, of Yellow Barn Rd, Freeville, NY went to be with his Savior Friday, March 27, 2015, after a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
He was born July 22, 1938, in Oneonta, NY, to the late Harold and Louise Harding. Jack is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Matson Harding; children, William (Carla) Harding and Marcia (Everett) Zeller Jr.;
grandchildren, Ryan and Kevin Harding and Kristine Zeller; sisters-in-law, Esther Olson and Alice Cutter; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by his brother, Lowell. A graduate of Ithaca High School, Jack served in the Army Reserves for 11 years and worked for NYSEG and Brockway Trucks. He retired from Bolton Point Water Systems and was a Water System Operator for Yellow Barn Water Company for many years. Jack was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a former volunteer for the Ithaca Fire Department, and an honored member of the Dryden Fire Department. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert Foote officiating. Burial, in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, will be delayed. Friends are invited to call from 5 to 7 PM, Tuesday at the Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, and from 1 to 2 PM, Wednesday at the church (prior to the funeral), 149 Honness Lane, Ithaca. In lieu of flowers, donations to Trinity Lutheran Church or Hospicare, 172 E. King Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850 are appreciated.
