John A. (Buck) Morehouse

John A. “Buck” Morehouse, age 70 of Cortland formerly of Dryden passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Crown Park Nursing in Cortland.

Born October 12, 1952 in Binghamton, NY he was the son of the late John A. and Beverly Lynch Morehouse. Buck was retired from Cornell University. He loved everything football. He played in High School where he was given his nickname of “Buck” after Buck Buchanan. He also coached youth football and was an avid NY Giants fan. Buck also was Santa Claus at the Dryden Hotel for many years. He loved to hunt and fish.

Buck is survived by his brother, Dennis Morehouse; sisters, Pamela Morehouse and Charlotte McAnulty (Bob); nieces and nephews, Gidgett, Ginger, Chad, Tony and Ashley; several great nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends, Tina Doll and Janice Ewanicki. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Lorraine Darling and nephew, Ryan McAnulty.

A Celebration of Buck’s Life is being planned for a date in January.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dryden Youth Opportunity Fund.
